Abrams Publishing House is the only great art publisher.
This book is a treasure; it is a rare sight to see an art book that faithfully reproduces works, some of which I have personally seen. Gary is a consummate watercolor artist, respectful of his medium and subjects; this is beautifully captured by the incredible color photography and the intelligent, inspired comments by Judith Gordon, This book is a treat for anyone who loves flowers and admires artistic talent...I wish I could find the words...

Follow That Star: A Christmas Story
Published in Hardcover by Candy Cane Press (January, 2002)
Authors: Elizabeth Raum and Meredith Johnson
Average review score:

A wonderful Christmas story!
This is a wonderful book that my children love to hear over and over. It conveys the basic Christmas story but weaves in a wild chase through and involving the whole town. The pictures are bright and vivid, the story is easy to follow and has a touching conclusion. This is a great way to discuss the true meaning of Christmas. We've even used the book at our church's Christmas Eve service.

Do your self a favor and buy this book
There is a quality to this poetry that is beyond description. In the writing of poetry, there is no substitute for a well-lived life. The experiences of Mr. Johnson's life shine through in his writing. There is wisdom here, and it would do all of us good to take a little inspiration from this book.

Eye-opening, heartwarming, & spiritual
This was one of the first, definetly the best, testimonial that I have ever read. I loved that the author let you get away a little and then pulled you right back in. I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling in or wants to strengthen their religion!

For Love of Norway (Modern Scandinavian Literatures in Translation)
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Nebraska Pr (January, 1990)
Author: Pal Espolin Johnson
Average review score:

For The Love of Norway
This is one of my all time favorite books and I usually read it once a year. I only wish it had illustrations of the mountains, islands, ocean and a map. Never-the-less, the words portray a vivid story of hardworking people, and their simple lives of fishing, gathering eggs, harvesting, birthing, dying, etc. In short this is the life of Magda who marries Johan, and travels by boat to live on an island off the northern coast of Norway. "He met her at Vaagen. They put her wooden chest on the wheelbarrow. She wanted to carry the guitar herself...There was only one road in Mostad. It ran from north to south through the middle of the field and was about a quarter of a mile long. At the north end there was a white building with tall windows and a flagpole. That was the schoolhouse. The spring, or the house brook, as they called it, was at the other end. It was the only source of water..." Paal Espolin Johnson tells a wonderful story.

For My Daughter (Harlequin Promo)
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (May, 1998)
Authors: Harlequin, Janice Johnson, Jan Freed, and Margot Early
Average review score:

Skip the Last Story and This Book's a Winner!!!!
This is a worthwhile anthology to buy. Janice Johnson's story about a woman who is afraid of turning into her mother is fabulous and quite funny. When her mother sets her up with a great guy, she rejects him . But she doesn't count on him trying to lose favor with her mother, just so he can be with the daughter. Then, Jan Freed's story about a woman, the man she's going to marry, and the family that is organizing the whole event is also a pleasure to read. If you thought your family was tough, just wait until you read about Lindsey's. A note of warning, however. Margot Early's story is terrible. A complete downer. Skip it, and enjoy the other two, which well make up for the last story. Several touching stories about mothers and daughters.

The Framing of a Thought
Published in Paperback by Dorrance Publishing Co (November, 1997)
Author: Morris Anthony Johnson
Average review score:

This is a dynamic piece of art.
Seldom does one come across a work which encompasses so many aspects of life. Morris Johnson's analysis of friendship, love and sorrow is quite eyeopening. Though his talent for writing is evident, it is the realness of his art which makes this book so tangible. It is noted Mr. Johnson has since passed away, but his words will resonate with many for years to come.
